Let's remember the church is so much more than a building, we can still BE the Church during this trying time. Let’s make sure to pray constantly in the days to come, look to help those in need, call those who may be isolated, and show our community what it means to be a voice of hope. We will keep you updated on the status of other church programming and future weekend services as we continue to monitor the situation.
On 7-12-20 the church board voted to reopen our church on 8-1-20 in accordance with guidelines from the Minnesota Dept of Health and the executive action issued by governor Walz. The church board also approved a Covid-19 preparedness plan that will help us mitigate the potential of Covid-19 transmission in our church once we reopen.
Our church will reopen in phases and we will start with phase 1 reopening which will be for divine service only at 11am. Sabbath school classes will continue to be held online/virtually with a new start time of 9am-10am. The new sabbath school time will take effect on 8-1-20 and will allow enough time for members to travel to church for divine service at 11am. Other than divine service, there will be no other church events/activities that will be held in church except for community service on Thursdays.
Members who are at a higher risk of severe illness from Covid-19 are encouraged to continue worshipping online at this time.
Here are some things to expect once we reopen:
● Everyone who is over 5 years old will be required to wear face masks in church. Children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old are not required to wear face coverings, but are encouraged to wear a face covering when in public if they can do so reliably in compliance with CDC guidance. Children under age 2 years must not wear face coverings .
● Members/visitors who do NOT live in the same household will be expected to maintain a social distance of 6 feet apart (no handshakes, hugs or elbow bumps).
● Anyone who is sick i.e fever, cough or other Covid-19 symptoms will be expected to worship from home and consult their health care provider.
Please see our COVID-19 preparedness plan for more details.
